Today was the first day of soccer for not only Ella but for Coach Jason too! Thats right folks… Jason’s the new coach!! He came home looking a tad bit haggard but still in one piece which considering this is his first time, I was pretty impressed! Seriously though, Jason is such a big kid himself that I’m sure the job will fit him like a glove. He says he has a little bit of everything on his team, a few kids that are the all stars, a few sensitive ones, some that are just there to smell the flowers, one that knows everything about the game and will probably practice for hours at home and score every goal. He said they are all awesome! I think he will probably dream about leading his team to victory tonight. I’ll have to remind him tomorrow that they are only 6!

Happy Friday!

I love love love the time of year when we cut hay…I love how the fields become groomed and perfect, how the bales seem to fall into perfect placement, and how in the evening the sun sets just right over each and everyone. I love the hustle to get them all put away, I love how the farm becomes alive with people picking them up out of the fields. My kids love it as well, but for a different reason of course. They love hay season for the jumping! The hay has been a constant this past week. They wake up and head out on bikes to the hay stack and usually do not come back until its time for food! Ella looks like she has been through a war, her legs eaten by ants, and covered in scratches, but she doesn’t seem to mind, to her its all about the farthest jump, and the next little hiding place she’ll find! Soon summer will be over and she will be off to kindergarten, I’m trying to soak up the time with her, it all goes by too fast.

14 days old and just divine!
Maggie Mae Roberts is finally here! She entered this world on June 21st at 7lbs 3oz of pure perfection! Of course she’s already had several different photo session with many more to come…but for now…here she is…

Here is to just two more weeks of it just being the two of them!

This is the other half of the amazing family that I was asked to photograph. Its so neat to see what clients choose for location, attire, props, etc. This family choose the gorgeous McNay art museum in San Antonio as their setting. I have never shot at this location, and I was quite impressed! The original part of the museum used to be a home, it is an old spanish style house with tons of charm. Then they added on more modern parts that extend off the house as the museum grew. The grounds are covered in cool statues, fish ponds, and quaint sitting areas. It was just a lovely afternoon, with a lovely family!

This past weekend I had so much fun meeting this amazing family. Macy contacted me before Christmas about giving gift cards to both sides of her family for a ‘generational’ family session. On Saturday I got to meet Macy’s mother’s side of the family…what can I say… they are a down to earth, loving, energetic, funny family! I know how hard it is to get a big family together, so I was so honored that they asked me to document them all together! And, come on…the red mower…awesome! Next the Mcbeth side of the family…
